We are currently looking to recruit a Process Improvement Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer on behalf of a manufacturing organisation in the Merseyside area.

THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting our customer's journey to facilitate world class manufacturing across their plant. You will be tasked with identifying areas to improve across the business as well as investigating and evaluating suggestions from others.

You will be required to provide justifications to senior stakeholders that support your recommendations, implement change and coach and mentor staff members to ensure the new processes bed in.

KEY DUTIES:

  • To facilitate and lead World Class Manufacturing (WCM) implementation throughout the plant

  • To support WCM events and liaise effectively with internal / external teams and facilities

  • To coach, train and drive company standard adherence and score to exceed best practice

  • To deliver progress updates and reports to senior and corporate management team

  • To coordinate and manage group CIP events and activities

  • To be a positive role model for WCM and effectively support improvements within the plant

  • To support all SWCT, layout and work flow concept integration into the plant

  • To facilitate plant continuous improvement and periodically report out adherence to business plan

  • To be flexible and able to undertake various tasks as an extra resource if and when required.

THE PERSON:

Based out of the Merseyside plant, the ideal Process Improvement Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

  • Six Sigma experience at Green belt or above including proven implementation (certified accreditations preferred, thorough Six Sigma training considered)

  • Good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and the implementation of these techniques. Kanban, SMED, Single piece flow, 7 wastes, 5S

  • Proven experience of implementation of work cell/ plant layouts, including Value stream mapping

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and develop and grow our clients WCM culture within the plant

  • Excellent decision making skills with an ability to solve complex issues

  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral

  • Act as a team member and work with people from various areas and levels within the business

  • Strong training/coaching and motivational skills, with proven experience
