Product Manager


South East

The Role

Reporting to the Global Head of Engineering, the Product Manager will provide management and leadership for the product line. Responsibilities include:

  • The Product manager will work closely with Sales, Projects, Strategy, Operations, Service & Research teams

  • Ensure new products are launched on time, on spec and on budget

  • Existing products maintain their competitive positioning to maximise both customer satisfaction

  • Responsible for all Product Management duties as informed by Product Lifecycle Process

  • Market and business data reviews supporting development of strategic approach

  • Capability strategy review

  • Customer facing

  • Market research; analyse and present for potential markets, customer needs, competition etc

  • Product road mapping

  • Develop product strategies and commercial justifications for investments

  • Ensure new products meet business needs when taken to market

  • Improve efficiency to product management activities

  • Subject matter expert

  • Ensure compliance and export controls/ regs

  • Post launch product management

  • Working closely to build effective relationships internally and externally

  • Support change and CI

  • Bid support

The Person

The experience required of the Aerospace Engineering Director based from the Gloucester site will include:


  • Aero/Defence experience

  • Experience in Product management

  • Proven track record delivering hardware, software & service solutions

  • Experience in analytical instrumentation

  • SC clearance will be needed

  • Customer focus

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to articulate technically complex material

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to suit audience

  • Microsoft office experience


  • Have worked in a highly regulated market - chemical/explosives/narcotics

  • University degree (ideally in mechanical, electrical or engineering subject)

  • SAP experience

  • Chartered engineer

  • Six sigma, lean etc
