£45,000 - £50,000 plus benefits

Core Talent is currently looking for a driven Production Manager for a market leading manufacturing business based in the Greater Manchester area, paying between £45,000 & £50,000 per annum (experience dependent). You will work a standard day shift.


The Role

The successful candidate will have full autonomy for the management and leadership of a team of around 20 permanent staff members plus additional temporary labour.

Our client employs a full range of skills from commercial, through engineering to fitters/electricians involved in the final assembly of the goods. Once manufactured they then test, strip, pack and ship the product for reassembly on customers' premises.

They are looking for an experienced Manager to control the factory to ensure goods are produced in a timely manner, within budget parameters, are produced to the highest standards and in a safe and secure working environment.

The shop floor can be a hectic environment with an ever changing mix of products and priorities and a constant need for close relationships with employees at all levels and skill sets, suppliers and sub-contractors.

Your responsibility covers everything from; achieving productivity targets, quality levels, ensuring exemplary health and safety of your team and delivering all this at the minimum costs. The main focus for this role is on improving the manufacturing operation performance and helping to deliver products on time to the customer.

You will work closely with the supply chain function to ensure parts are available when required and play an essential role in production planning. Our client is looking for a strong leader with a track record of influencing positive change on the shop floor.

The Person

It is essential that candidates have -

  • Experience of working in an assembly, special purpose machinery or heavy engineering manufacturing environment

  • At least 5 years of managing teams with a minimum headcount of 30

  • A driven, can do and motivational attitude to work

  • Excellent production planning skills

  • A good mechanical understanding

  • The ability to prioritise workloads and volumes

Ideally candidates should be -

  • Educated to a minimum of HNC or HND level but preferably degree

  • Experience with some manual assembly processes
