Production Manager

£45,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

We are recruiting a Production Manager for a blue chip packaging business based in Birmingham. The business has a global turnover of $3 billion and employ circa 2000 people worldwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Some of the key responsibilities for the Production Manager include:

  • Heading up production for the entire site

  • Driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles across the site through your management team, increasing productivity through people engagement

  • Safety, 5S, Visual Management, Problem Solving and Corrective Action, OME/ Efficiency Standard, Preventive Maintenance, Quick Change Over, TPM, Production Scheduling.

THE PERSON:

This is a challenging Production Manager role that will require an inspirational leader with a background in modern manufacturing techniques to improve standards and drive efficiencies.

The ideal Production Manager will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Degree in Engineering / Manufacturing or a technical discipline - desirable

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Manufacturing Experience within Plastics / Packaging Manufacturing

  • Strong understanding and experience of using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Principles (Six Sigma certified preferred GB or BB)

  • Strong understanding and experience of ISO & OHSAS requirements

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with employees at all levels of the business

  • Strong problem solving ability with experience using 8D, 5 Why & Ishikawa approaches
