Production Planner



£30,000 - £35,000 DOE

I am working with an industry leading Automotive business, based in the Birmingham area, who are looking for a Production Planner to join their expanding Supply Chain team. The business are going through growth and can offer the successful applicant significant opportunities to progress.


The Production Planner will be responsible for providing a schedule which balances the customer requirements and allows the best utilization of resources. You will be the main contact between the customer services department and production, planning the production line through the MRP system. This is a complex role and suits someone with strong analytical skills and someone who wants to be in a fast-paced, exciting environment.

  • Formulate the daily production schedule

  • Monitor factory progress against the daily schedule, investigating variances, re-planning if required and communicating any changes accordingly

  • Carry out machine capacity analysis, making recommendations to operations management team

  • Responsible for progress chasing and customer improvements


This role is suited to a Production Planner or Materials Planner from a fast paced manufacturing background. The product has a complex bill of materials so you will need to have strong analytical skills.

  • 3years+ experience working in a supply chain Planning/ Scheduling function

  • Experience in a fast paced engineering environment

  • Excellent Communication/Interpersonal skill

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Knowledge of ERP/ MRP systems (preferably SAP)
