As Project Development Engineer you will work alongside the Technical Manager to manage all aspects of new Projects including, development and launch of the product and process use APQP/PPAP process. Also responsible for:

  • on time/in budget completion of all customer deliverables for projects

  • Monitor & continuous improvement of the project post launch

  • Feasibility meetings & generation of Quotes for new business

  • Coordinate/control the DFMEA of new Products

  • Be responsible for the generation of Cross Functional Process Flow charts, PFMEAs and Control Plans and their document control

  • Provide input into the generation of Work Instructions

  • To coordinate testing and Benchmark testing for New Projects

  • To generate cycle and process timings

  • Responsibility for all experimental (prototype) tooling and inspection aids

  • Co-ordination of all Production intent tooling, Inspection aids and Master samples until Production hand over

  • To provide support to Production on Continuous Improvement, where required

  • Supplier / customer visits liaison for New Projects

  • To have measurable PIs and provide regular updates to the Engineering Director

  • Provide support to other departments within the company as directed by the Engineering Director

  • Utilise all APQP formats and regularly report Project Status to Management & Customers

  • Work on specific Projects as directed by the Engineering Director

  • Prepare technical reports to customer and internal product cost breakdowns for sales

The ideal candidate for the Project Development Engineer will have the following skill set:


  • 3-5 years experience in Projects or technical sales background

  • Automotive experience

  • APQP experience

  • Product lifecycle

  • Budget awareness/ quotes/ costings

  • Understand engineering drawings

  • Supplier / customer facing

  • Previous market research experience

  • Business development support

  • Good communication skills


  • Design background

£30,000-£35,000 dependant on experience

Role based in North Wales and commutable from Llandudno, Chester, Colwyn Bay and the surrounding area.
