The Role

Responsible for managing NPI into manufacture. You will be working with both Customers and Suppliers to complete vehicle project activities, whilst providing engineering and technical support to the Company as it implements concept designs into component products, including the preparation of timing plans up until production launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Being involved with Project Management , in line with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and client requirements
  • Managing, PFEMA/FMEA/PPAP/DVP/CP/PSW to improve customer satisfaction
  • Leading new projects by updating the project management plan, tracking progress, identifying potential problems early and solving them in a timely manner
  • Arranging and managing, joint development meetings between suppliers & design engineering for early supplier engagement in design reviews
  • Carrying out feasibility studies
  • Driving continuous improvement in the efficiency of the NPI, by identifying and recommending new approaches, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Verifying product designs are totally suited to tooling feasibility and business interests
  • Controlling and clearing reporting of project budgets, including responsibility for budget adherence
  • Contributing to R&D activity
  • Contributing to cost saving ideas
  • Completing product sign offs

The Person

Essential:

  • Project Engineering experience
  • Experience working in a fast paced engineering environment preferably Automotive
  • APQP/PPAP experience
  • NPI process and sound product and component knowledge and experience
  • High level of flexibility as and when required, with regard to working hours and travelling both in the UK and abroad
  • Be comfortable with customer interaction and visiting customers

Desirable:

  • Degree educated
  • Experience working in plastics
