The Role

Reporting to the Project Leader, the Project engineer will be part of a cross functional team to work across the full product life cycle for my Aerospace/Defence client. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with senior leaderships teams across multi UK sites

  • These will include: Chief engineers, System engineering, Architecture, Design teams

  • Environmental engineering

  • Provide key technical focal point for all stages of the product life cycle

  • Requirements specifications and management

  • Data analysis

  • Simulation and modelling

  • Testing in climatic, mechanical (vibration and shock), structural mechanical and fatigue

  • Provide technical expertise in generating environmental requirements

  • Develop robust product designs

  • Define and manage cost effective test strategies throughout the product development cycle

  • Act as a technical interface with customers

  • Delivery of data analysis tasks or technical work packages

  • Data gathering trials and assessments, platform integration activities, and structural modal assessment

  • Ensure delivery to the required quality, timescale and budget

  • Plan work packages

  • Advise on projects and responsible for delivery of technical aspects of data analysis activities

  • Able to work on multiple projects and issues

  • Input to emerging technologies

The Person


  • Cradle to grave project management

  • Strong experience in a laboratory environment

  • Environmental engineering experience

  • Vibration, shock, temperature and humidity environments

  • Ability to push through the correct technical solution

  • Strong organisation skills, including ability to protect and achieve tight deadlines

  • Analytical skills

  • Problem solving

  • Strong communication skills


  • University degree ideally

  • Aerospace/ Defence background
