The Role

Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Project Manager will lead be responsible for the management of projects for both NPI (and Mods).

Other responsibilities will include:

  • The Project Manager plans, monitors and manages internally from initiation through completion Customer facing

  • Costings and negotiations

  • Assist in sales campaign, Prepare commercial bids / quotes, RFQS

  • Co-ordinate all aspects of the various programmes for allocated customer accounts focusing on driving 100% On Time Delivery at 100% Quality all the time

  • Input and support the strategic future of customers

  • Define project objectives, create schedules

  • Oversee quality control through project

  • Project Documentation

  • Project management for NPI including Project budget, timing and profitability responsibility

  • Create schedules and reviews timeline objectives

  • Lead a team indirectly to service the customer's requirements

  • Resources planning, Budgeting and financial control

  • Identify and drive metrics to measure contract performance

  • Presenting quality/reliability issues and customer service improvement projects

  • Formulating, instigating and driving recovery programmes for allocated customers

  • Minimize risk

  • Develop improvements and innovations

  • Ensuring timely resolution of customer issues and leading Customer Review meetings

  • Coordinate and ensure internal and external approvals

The Person

ESSENTIAL

  • Aero/defence experience is essential

  • Full cradle to grave Project management

  • NPI is a must

  • University degree

  • Minimum of 2 years in Project role

  • Demonstrate management of full project life cycle

  • Meeting Project Completion Dates

  • Man management /Leadership

  • Strategic with Good understanding of business processes and methods

  • Track record of delivering positive (cost, quality and performance) results

  • Product lifecycle management

  • Problem solving methodologies

DESIRABLE

  • Supplier / Manufacturing / Quality means and methods, capabilities & constraints

  • Strong business and commercial acumen including supply chain, financials

  • Inventory holding and management systems

  • document and configuration control methods

  • Strong organisation skills, including ability to protect and achieve tight deadlines

  • IMS, Risk management

  • Strong communication skills

  • Driving licence/ Flexibility for travel
