The Role

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager will work with multiple SMEs supporting them through the commercialisation stage of their product into the Automotive industry based on technology development. Including:

  • Hands on role

  • Liaise with internal and external departments to ensure the delivery of programme plans, through all phases of the project delivery

  • Develop a strong understanding of the projects technical and commercial objectives

  • Understand and develop experience with new technologies

  • Develop understanding of key technologies being developed during the project

  • Research innovation and input research into the project tea

  • Manage allocated developments through programme

  • Deliver wider aspects of programme against programme timescales

  • Deliver project gateways

  • Ensure delivery of service and lessons learnt

  • Develop capacity to develop workshop initiatives

  • Lead, present and attend regular meetings

  • Report project progress, key success and risk indicators

The Person

ESSENTIAL

  • 3-4 Project Manager / Account Management experience

  • Knowledge of NPI / NPD processes and procedures

  • OEM expectation of suppliers

  • Knowledge of emerging markets

  • Excellent communication

  • presentation skills

  • Ability to handle change effectively and positively

  • Strong knowledge and self-sufficiency in the use of MS Office suite applications

DESIRABLE

  • Automotive industry

  • Education to Degree level or above in Engineering and or Business Management

  • Experience of project management working with customer development teams on the launch of new technologies within the supply chain or OEM

  • university / research/ consultancy role previously

  • new technology interest

  • Background: automotive, aerospace
