PROJECT MANAGER- EC&I

GLOBAL CHEMICALS MANUFACTURER

£60,000- £63,000+ EXCELLENT PACKAGE

I have an exciting new opportunity for a key client, a global Chemicals manufacturer looking to recruit a career driven EC&I Project manager for their facility based in Chester.

The role-

Managing a small team, the project manager will reporting in at director level and be a key member of the senior management team. Specialising Electrical controls and instrumentation, you will support a range of projects (Capex and Decommissioning) as the site continues to grow and develop its product range.

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to);

  • Provide Low Voltage (up to 400V) Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering expertise to the Business Units to enable such to operate in a safe and efficient manner.
  • To maintain existing and develop future Site E&IC Standards / Codes of Practice, in line with current Legislation, Regulations & British/European Standards.
  • Identify capital and revenue investment requirements in relation to the E&IC equipment and systems installed within the site to ensure safety, equipment fit-for-purpose, energy efficiency and cost effectiveness is maintained and where possible continuously improved. This includes the preparation of technical justification.
  • Identify and Implement new technologies for new applications & upgrades. Design to approved procedures to minimise potential for major process accident hazards.
  • Custodian of DCS/PLC/SCADA and other control systems (Currently include: Yokogawa, Eurotherm, Rockwell (Allen Bradley), Red Lion, & Siemens)

The Person

The ideal project manager will be career focused and highly motivated. They are looking for the following key criteria;

  • HND or above in Electrical/ Electronic/Control Engineering (or similar) discipline
  • 5 years+ in Chemical/Pharma/Petrochemical industry or similar
  • Practical, can do approach coupled with strong technical knowledge.
  • Hands on approach - capable of delivering work themselves as well as through others
  • Experience of Control Systems Eurotherm, Yokogawa Allan Bradley & SCADA Systems advantageous.
