Project Manager - New Facility Build / Capital Projects

Core Talent is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to lead and project manage the development of a viable solution for a standalone UK manufacturing facility, which can be implemented, when required, without significant further design activity.

As things stand the facility in question doesn't exist and therefore there is a lot of feasibility study, investigation and planning activity required to determine if this proposal is a cost effective solution for our customer.

Objectives Include:

• Define the scope of manufacturing and support activities required in the facility

• Define detailed requirements and volumes etc for externally sourced services

• Work with the Roadmap project, engineering and marketing teams to understand specifications of the current range of products and identify how the products can be improved.

• Create a detailed design for a manufacturing facility, including physical facilities, infrastructure, equipment, technology, organisation design and sizing

• Develop options for more effective/flexible production lines

• Design detailed line options and associated tooling requirements

• Confirm direct labour resources required with new Platforms and manufacturing efficiency increases

• Establish costed options for locations and physical facilities (potentially based on multiple tenure options)

• Establish detailed costs to operate the proposed facility

Essential Requirements:

• Capital project delivery experience within a manufacturing environment

• Good product engineering knowledge and ability to apply technical knowledge to solve problems

• Experience of managing similar projects

• Experience of setting up new lines/facilities

• Good appreciation of cost engineering and factors influencing cost of purchased materials and services

Desirables:

• Experience of facility move or closure

• Understanding of NPD/NPI processes

• Understanding/experience of managing multiple external supply chains and materials management

• Financial awareness
