The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain, the Purchasing manager will be developing the strategic direction of procurement expenditure and product management.

  • Operates at senior management level with high autonomy

  • Manage, mentor and develop effective procurement team on a multi-site basis

  • Manage strong supplier relationships

  • Ensure requirement s are met on time in

  • Deliver cost effective solutions

  • Ensure cost effective supply base

  • Cost reductions

  • Meet profit plans

  • Implement material strategies aligned to site objectives

  • Lead material sourcing activities

  • Lead, motivate, support product management staff members

  • Supply chain contract management

  • Lead supply chain product management

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Compliance

  • Source key suppliers and develop relationships with the aim of generating cost saving without compromising on Quality and delivery

The Person

The ideal Purchasing manager will have had experience in:


  • Degree

  • Minimum 3 years+ in a SC/Category manager role

  • Professional Supply chain certificate

  • Team management - strong man manager is essential

  • Supply chain / procurement management

  • IT skills

  • Track record of generating cost savings

  • Tactical and strategic planning functions

  • Project management

  • ERP

  • Lean/ CI/ Six sigma

  • Global sourcing activities


  • Aerospace

  • Professional Supply chain certificate - CIPS/ CPIM

  • Multi site
