The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for a global Aerospace/ Defence manufacturer as a Sales Manager. Responsible for delivering sales growth through establishing, maintaining and expanding the customer base within a defined geographical area/region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Experienced in supporting large multinational customers and their supply chains as well as bespoke orders

  • Deliver a year over year growth in revenue for the assigned customer base

  • Meet both annual and long-term growth expectations

  • Serve customer's strategic and tactical business goals and objectives

  • Add value & identify new business opportunities with existing customers

  • Ensure businesses solutions are understood

  • Support the development and implementation of world leading processes

  • Proactively market, approach/target customers, respond to and generating leads and qualifying opportunities

  • Development of growth strategies for the Defence business

  • Planning and analysing the strategic direction for development

  • Setting and meeting order intake, sales and contribution margin budgets

  • Developing and deploying growth strategies against key accounts

  • Understanding the needs of the existing customer base

  • Managing product and service portfolios - ensure all critical aspects of the market are addressed

  • Preparing budgets for sales, costs, profit and cash generation

  • Participating in business reviews and feedback presentations

The Person

We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager with a proven track record in Aerospace. Candidates without direct in aerospace manufacturing unfortunately will NOT be considered for this role.


  • HNC standard or higher in engineering subject

  • 70% hunter, 30% farmer

  • Evidence of order book growth

  • New business as well as account management is essential

  • Ability to develop new customers whilst sustaining existing

  • Good negotiator, commercial, pricing skills

  • Able to create a sales strategy

  • Market analysis

  • Track record of dealing with large and complex bids in a selling environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills across all levels

  • Driving licence is essential as this role will mainly be travelling


  • Degree, Masters degree or similar
