We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a defence company specialising in UAV's. You will be working for a small company with huge ambitions. They have won awards for leading the pathway in their specific technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company who are really pushing the boundaries with their innovations.

THE ROLE

The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be to support the head of engineering on multidisciplinary design challenges involved in the development of unmanned systems. Other responsibilities include.

• Day-to-day design and management of multi-disciplinary design requirements

• Define the design, integration and test activities during development of both R&D and product contracts

• Select suitable manufacturing methods for rapid prototyping

• Preparing user requirements and technical specifications.

• Understanding of customer requirements

THE PERSON

The ideal Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have the following skills and experience

• Degree qualified in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering

• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD design, preferably solid works

• Experience of working with electro-mechanical systems

• Experience of aircraft design methods

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
