Join an esteemed Global Defence company operating on cutting-edge, pioneering projects. Situated near Guildford, my client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to become a valuable asset to their Engineering team. You'll be engaged in developing in-service products and spearheading new projects for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). Your primary focus will be utilising C++ to lead the software team and collaborate with analysts and electronics engineers, contributing to the design, implementation, and testing of system solutions.
What you will be doing:
Implementing software using C++
Architectural and detailed software design using UML
Advancing assigned stories and tasks within an Agile team's product backlog
Software integration, testing, defect analysis, and resolution
Guiding and supporting a team of Junior Software Engineers
Regular verbal reporting of progress and participation in sprint planning
We are interested if you have
Proficient in C++ development
Familiarity with Hardware/Software interfacing
Comfortable with team-based software design, possessing UML design exposure
Desirable knowledge of DevOps technologies
Bonus points for familiarity with Python, signal processing, or machine learning algorithms
STEM degree coupled with software development experience (post-graduate or industrial)
Over 4 years of experience in a Software Engineering/Developer role
Eligibility to obtain UK SC Clearance
