Supplier Quality Engineer

Automotive

Blackburn/Burnley

£35,000 - £38,000

We are currently looking for a driven \Supplier Quality Engineer for a prestigious Automotive business based in the Blackburn area.

MAIN DUTIES/KEY TASKS:

  • Implementation of new products using APQP techniques

  • Support the Purchasing function to manage and provide assistance to sub-tiers

  • Development of quality techniques and compliance process controls

  • Management and investigation of customer claims

  • Implementation and Management of Continuous improvement activities

  • Producing submission timing plans and implementing product quality samples

  • Work with cross-functional teams to generate Manufacturing Inspection Test Plans (MITP), lead PFMEA's and control plans to mitigate process and manufacturing risks

  • Candidates without experience of TS16949 will not be considered

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a fast paces Automtoive or Aerospace environment

  • Min 4 years experience in Supplier Quality

  • They must have a proven track record of improvements they have made within supplier quality management

  • Knowledge and application of quality tools such as APQP, PFMEA, 8D/DEMAIC problem solving, SPC, Control Plans, PPAP/PSW.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications

  • Experiance with QMS including IATF 16949, ISO9001 & ISO14001

  • opportunity to put together their own supplier score cards and have the ability to use these to improve suppliers on Quality, Cost & Delivery.

  • Audit Supplier Processes & QMS

  • the ability to sit in front of supplier MD's and influence and persuade them to work with them to move the suppliers forward in regards to their technical ability and performance

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
