We are working with an industry leading, high volume manufacturing business based locally to Manchester who are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Supply Chain manager to join their senior management team! The business have an industry leading range of products and have an impressive growth strategy that will enable excellent opportunities for growth and progression.


Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for optimising the efficiency of the production plan and material supply whilst providing excellent customer service. In a high volume and fast paced manufacturing environment, you will be taking responsibility for a team and ensuring effective management of Production Planning and Inventory management processes in line with Financial targets. Key responsibilities for the Supply Chain Manager Manager will include;

  • Produce a robust and efficient production schedule which optimises the efficiency of the production assets based on customer demand
  • Maintain an exceptional level of customer service (OTIF)
  • Manage finished inventory levels within budget guidelines
  • Manage the supply of raw material onto the site to minimise the amount of material held whilst ensuring continuity of supply
  • Forecast forward loading across assets and produce a 3 and 6 month view of loading based on forecast changes in business volumes
  • As the Supply Chaing Manager, train and develop the Planning team
  • Use analysis of forward demand to balance loading across assets to minimise overtime requirements


The ideal Supply Chain manager will need to have worked in a high volume manufacturing environment, where they have overseen Production Planning and Inventory management processes. Key attributes for the production planning manager will include;

  • Minimum of 3 years'+ experience leading a planning/ supply chain team within a fast paced manufacturing environments
  • strong skills in production Planning/ Capacity/ inventory management
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • MRP experience (ideally SAP, although not essential)
  • Self-starter with high energy levels, personal drive and commitment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify
