About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a successful team in Málaga, Spain, to work in the dynamic and rapidly growing data centre industry. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires relocation. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in mechanical engineering, particularly within HVAC, cooling systems, and MEP design, to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of state-of-the-art data centres.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for data centre infrastructure, focusing on HVAC, cooling, and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Conduct thermal load calculations and select appropriate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Participate in the commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage and troubleshoot mechanical systems throughout the data centre lifecycle to ensure continuous operation and reliability.
  • Apply industry standards such as LEED and BREEAM to ensure environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Support the project management team with design reviews, technical documentation, and coordination with contractors and suppliers.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC, cooling systems, or MEP for mission-critical facilities such as data centres.
  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability standards, and building certifications (LEED/BREEAM).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to relocate to Málaga, Spain, and travel within Europe as required.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus but not mandatory.
