Core Talent Recruitment is a specialist recruitment business providing management and skilled technical resource to our clients. Operating within our specialist sectors we work with SME to Blue-chip organisations as an extension of their internal recruitment function to source active and passive candidates to meet their exact requirements.

We are looking for an individual who is looking to kick-start their career within Finance by becoming an Assistant to our Financial Controller. 2 years ago our current Financial Controller started in this position, in those 2 years she has had 3 promotions and is now looking to grow her team and offer someone else the challenge and opportunity to develop their career.

Scope of Role:

To provide all support aspects of financial administration to the business ensuring that debtors are minimised, income maximised and financial risk highlighted.


  • Maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers; including posting invoices, reconciling supplier/customer statements, and resolving queries.

  • Reconciling banks on a daily basis.

  • Deal with supplier/customer queries and resolution issues in a timely manner

  • Responsible for credit control and manage level of debtors to KPI's or better bringing to the attention of the Directors any debtors who are going beyond agreed terms

  • Reconciling credit card transactions

  • Responsibility for contractor's timesheets and invoicing on a weekly basis

  • Responsibility of petty cash

  • Ad hoc queries that managers and Directors request

Skills Required:

Must Haves

  • Completely comfortable with all Microsoft packages with excellent knowledge of excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent Telephone Manner

  • Excellent Communication Skills

  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload effectively to meet specified deadlines.

Desirable * Experience in a Recruitment or Sales focused environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Circa £20,000 and benefits including 25 days holiday, pension, NHS top up plan

Additional pay:

Bonus scheme paid monthly

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm - 37.5 hours

Ability to commute:

Manchester, M2 5WA: reliably commute


Accounts: 6 months

Degree with a Financial or business bias


Potential for study support to gain formal Accountancy Qualification (CIMA / ACCA / or equivalent)
