Currently, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Quantity Surveyor to join our team for an exciting data centre project in Finland.

Position Overview: As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the costs and finances of the mechanical and electrical aspects of the project. You will work closely with the project management team to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of the project within budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost estimation, cost planning, and cost control for mechanical and electrical components of the project.
  • Collaborating with the design and engineering teams to review M&E drawings and specifications, identifying any potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Preparing tender documents and conducting tender evaluations for M&E subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the project.
  • Monitoring and tracking M&E costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular reports to the project management team.
  • Managing change orders and variations, assessing their impact on project costs and timelines.
  • Conducting value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve any M&E-related commercial issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience working as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects, preferably data centre projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Finnish would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Right to work in Finland is essential
