Material Planner- Global Manufacturing Organisation

£35,000- £40,000+ Bonus/ Benefits package

The Role

Based from the companies state of the art Liverpool facility, the Materials Planner will join the experienced Planning team and be responsible for medium and long term planning of Raws, Packs and Semi Finished materials to support the portfolio of products. Working within the S&OP process to plan achievement of business inventory targets and to highlight capacity gaps in vendor supply or supply point capability

Additional aspects of this role will focus on the following;

  • To drive continuous improvement in our Materials Planning activity and add value beyond the transactional scheduling and execution. This will include forecasting for vendors and for our S&OP process, inventory and working capital management, vendor management and supply chain modelling.
  • Manage inventory using quantity, physical space requirements and value as the drivers for decision making regarding Age and expiration of stock, Minimum order sizes, Minimum delivery quantities and lead times
  • Ensure reliable forecast for monitoring and creating new contracts but also to strengthen the relationship with suppliers on visibility, reliability and supply.
  • Work with the Planning manager on Defining initiatives for optimising materials management including, inventory optimisation, warehouse capacity constraints, supplier partnering

The person

The ideal candidate for this role will be career driven and highly self-motivated. Criteria to be considered for this exciting opportunity will be as follows;

  • 2 years+ experience of materials planning within a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience in FMCG/ Food/ Pharma sectors would be ideal
  • Competent user of MRP systems (SAP would be ideal)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Educated to degree level would be useful but is not essential
