NPD Engineer- Global Manufacturing Business (Packaging)

£40,000- £50,000+ Bonus & Excellent Package

Excellent NEW career Opportunity! We are currently looking for a career driven NPD Engineer for our client, a truly global Manufacturer of sustainable packaging products. The role will offer genuine opportunities for career growth and development, as the business looked to expand their Operations across th UK and Europe over the next 3 years.

The role

The role of NPD Engineer will form an integral part of the site leadership team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Research and develop changes to existing products to comply with sustainability and circular economy trends such as tree-free fibers and recycled content papers.
  • Research new product concepts in protective packaging for parcel shipments.
  • Manage R&D projects from idea to commercialisation.
  • Design product formulations for performance and cost savings.
  • Work in cross-functional project teams as a materials expert.
  • Develop trial plans and test plans for paper materials.
  • Work with paper suppliers to design papers with the properties necessary for the product application.
  • Create documents for test reports, product specs, formulations, Critical-to-Quality items, Engineering Change Notifications, costing information, etc.
  • Attend R&D trials.

The Person

They are after a career driven Engineer with a background in some form of paper/ packaging based products. Key criteria for this role will include;

  • 2 year+ experience in NPD/ R&D engineering
  • Experience with Paper/ Cardboard/ Packaging/ Corrugated (or similar) based manufacturing
  • Good proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent team work and communication skills
  • Ideally educated to HND level or above in a relevant discipline
