Principal Firmware Engineer

We are currently looking to recruit a Principal Firmware Engineer on behalf of a market leader in their field, within the Southwest area. They are looking for an individual will drive the team forward as well as making a difference in the overall future & success of the business.
THE ROLE:
The Principal Firmware Engineer will take a lead role in developing new products & maintaining existing products. Be able to inspire the best practices and protocol amongst the team, making sure they are adhered to ensure quality, deadlines & budgeting are all met to high standards.
KEY DUTIES:
Responsible for all stages of development cycle
Take a lead with product development, overseeing from design to liaising with the key departments, including stakeholders
Ensure all testing and regulations are upheld to compliance requirements
Provide technical guidance and knowledge in the team
Can cost effectively and plan to the company guidelines
Provide analysis and present solutions for projects
THE PERSON:
The ideal Principal Firmware Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
A Bachelors degree, or its equivalent is required in an industry relevant field
Skilled and experienced in C/C++/C# (embedded C programming)
Prior experience within an industrial design role
Exposure and strong capability to fully follow the software development lifecycle at all levels - including testing and debugging
Ability to work as a team and really motivate and coach others
Excellent decision making skills with an ability to solve complex issues
Excellent analytical skills with an ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
