We are currently looking for a Principle Electronics Engineer for a rapidly expanding home mobility business that has seen rapid growth over the past few years. This role is based in Andover on a permanent basis with a salary of between £70,000 - £80,000 per annum dependent on experience.

The Role

The role is to provide technical design authority within the discipline of electronic hardware engineering. Primarily focused upon projects, this role is to ensure class-leading products are realised. Other responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of technical solutions and innovations to assigned projects
  • Ownership of requirements, architectures and specifications within field of expertise
  • Lead technical reviews and provide clear recommendations
  • Conduct design tasks with direct or in-direct instruction
  • Support design activities across the engineering function as required
  • Support technical decisions at project implementation and in service
  • Identify and mitigate technical risk
  • Support time and resource planning
  • Author and maintain design processes and design rules
  • Lead peer reviews ensuring best practice is maintained
  • Communicate technical information effectively to sponsors and stakeholders
  • Identify inventions, assist in patent generation and patent application reviews
  • Maintain awareness of technological trends and provide input into design decisions
  • Shall contribute to the generation of industry standards.

The Person

  • HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline relevant to electronic hardware engineering
  • Experience with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC test solutions

  • Proficient in electronic hardware development, creation of design documentation from requirements to architectures, documenting your design calculations and simulations, which you will then link to a design DFMEA.
  • Experienced in analogue and electronics design principles for motor drive and control systems, working within a rigorous design framework implementing safety critical solutions, preferably to SIL2.
