PRODUCTION ENGINEER

LEADING PRECISION ENGINEERING BUSINESS- PRESTON

£35,000- £45,000 + EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE

Excellent opportunity! We are recruiting for a Production Engineer for our client, a leading Engineering businesses. This role has excellent opportunities for development and progression into wider Engineering/ Management roles within the business.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, the Production Engineer will be working closely with the wider engineering & Production teams to identify Lean improvement possibilities across the manufacturing process, with a focus on driving projects that will deliver cost reductions whilst maintaining the highest levels of Health & safety on site. An example of some of the key responsibilities on site will include;

  • Deliver LEAN projects to increase manufacturing productivity through Increase productivity
  • Identifying scrap reduction possibilities and driving SMED projects on site
  • Work with the Manufacturing Manager to identify a preventative maintenance program
  • To seek and identify opportunities for improved efficiency's
  • analysis of current cycle times for reduction and improvement
  • Work with wider business teams to achieve project goals

THE PERSON

The ideal Production Engineer will have a strong background working in Engineering environments. You will be a strong communicator and be comfortable working with autonomy. Key Requirements for the role will include;

  • Experienced Production/ Process/ Manufacturing Engineer
  • A strong background in CNC Machining environments is ESSENTIAL
  • Strong understanding of modern LEAN manufacturing techniques
  • Experience delivering SMED projects on site
  • Strong communication skills
  • Degree/ Industry qualifications (SIX Sigma) preferred, but not essential
