Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacture

North West

6 Month Contract

£Negotiable Rate

Core Talent is currently looking for an experienced interim Process Engineer on behalf of a chemical manufacturing business based in the North West.

THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will be tasked with leading environmental projects across the chemical manufacturing plant that have been highlighted as areas to address following the visit of an external environmental agency.

The successful candidate will be required to lead HAZOP studies / assessments across the site with a view to identifying priority areas that require attention.

Areas already marked for attention include:

  • Containment of spillages including drainage and bunding / containment walls

  • Raw material segregation

Once a project priority list has been established the focus will switch to the delivery of the required modifications.

The site itself is a lower tier COMAH ATEX site.

THE PERSON:

The ideal Chemical Process Engineer will have the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience leading HAZOP studies / assessments - this is a critical requirement.

  • Track record of working within the chemical manufacturing industry

  • A healthy mix of experience within process engineering, project management and process safety

  • Experience working on a lower tier COMAH site or above is required

  • A relevant chemical engineering qualification would be preferred but is not essential
