We are currently looking for a number of Senior Design Engineers to join our prestigious client who specialise in manufacturing equipment for construction, agriculture, waste handling, and demolition. These roles are based in Staffordshire with salary of up to £55,000 dependent on experience.
The Role
The senior design engineer will be working for our clients award winning range of diesel, electric and innovative new hydrogen development programmes. The post will suit an individual looking for an opportunity to develop their career within a fast faced organisation.
You will be responsible for:
Specification and installation of powertrain components to develop propulsion systems to meet machine and territory requirements
Developing technical plans based on research ideas
Designing products based on the requirements of the company
Carrying out surveys on equipment and various mechanical systems
Presenting design plans to Managers and clients
Producing technical documents that the company requires
Conducting product testing
Overseeing quality control programmes and overall maintenance in a facility
Developing CAD project drawings and reviewing drawings from junior team members for accuracy
The Person
The ideal Senior Design Engineer will:
Demonstrate creativity and innovation
Have a positive can do attitude
Have a degree in an associated mechanical engineering discipline, with a sound understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles (showing an attention to detail, and being data driven).
Have an appreciation for powertrain system / architecture.
Have awareness of cost implications for full component life cycle
Be competent with systems and procedures of the department e.g. CAD / SOPs
Be capable of working from engineering brief as well as arrangement models
Capable of presenting engineering solutions to the wider team
