Currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to deliver Life Science Projects across the DACH Region with a particular focus on Switzerland. The role will involve leading projects in a live environment ranging from €20-80m.

My Client has a strong pipeline of work which will offer the successful candidate opportunities to grow within the business potentially moving toward senior leadership roles in the future.

Experience & Skill

  • Has experience of leading projects in live and semi live pharmaceutical or similar environments.

  • Has a keen understanding of what project success looks like for all parties and has the ability to deliver

  • General Contractor experience in a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager position

  • Experience of delivering full life-cycle projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover

  • Strong Pharmaceutical / Data Centre / Industrial Project experience

  • An ability to lead and motivate a team of internal and external stakeholders to ensure they work effectively

  • Excellent understanding all disciplines with a particular focus on MEP systems

  • Has a proven track record of delivering world class health and safety standards leading by example

  • Familiarity with the concepts of BIM

  • Understand the principles of LEED requirements

  • Ability to deliver and assist in negotiating a tendered opportunity

  • German speaking preferred

Preconstruction

  • Develop lasting relationships with all project stakeholders including Client, Delivery Team, Design Teams and contractor

  • Prepare the programme, method statements, prelims and submission document

  • Chair start-up & internal meetings

  • Prepare the Procurement strategy with the QS and Prequalification of key supply chain

  • Prepare a preliminary Commercial Risk Register and mitigate/manage any risks for the duration of the project

  • Work with the SQS to prepare a prelim procurement schedule and track same

  • Ensure Health, Safety & Environmental plans and processes are prepared, including Temporary Works Register, scaffolding plan, constructability plan and Logistics plans

Construction & Design

  • Manages, through others, consultant and subcontractor design as required by the contract including delivery of the BIM strategy

  • Manage S/C including S/C progress meetings and S/C pre-order meetings

  • Manage Info requests, movement, storage and accessibility

  • Chair Internal Team Meetings / Attend and chair Subcontractor meetings

  • Detailed understanding of the critical path(s) on the project

  • Manage information flow and information required schedules

  • Prepare contract reports, Manage Prelims in accordance with PEP and prepare applications for extension of time with SQS/QS

  • Review constructability and identify methods of execution with commercial or programme advantage where possible

  • Monitor overall site progress against programme (PEP). Agree programmes with subcontractors and monitor progress with the SM

  • Manage and control the operating budget + weekly/monthly progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders

  • Take the principal responsibility for driving the HSEQS plan onsite, including driving the full Quality Program for the project

Post Construction

  • Ensure aftercare service is in place for the client

  • Ensure any post MC Commissioning scope and documentation requirements are delivered to required standard and timelines

  • Support the SQS in the preparation of any loss and expense applications and in the provision of information for Final Accounts

  • Protect contractual position by ensuring that the Client & design teams are satisfied and that there is a strong relationship with future potential in place
