Excellent New Opportunity!! An exciting opportunity has arisen for a career driven Technical Author to join an leading engineering business that specialise in the design and manufacture of specialist equipment. They have a well-established, global customer base and are going through a significant period of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, The Technical Author will be key member of the technical publications team in producing class-leading documentation packages in line with contractual requirements and timescales. The key responsibilities will be as follows;

  • Produce O&M manuals and ad-hoc technical documents from source information such as engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications and internal / external SMEs
  • Interpret CAD drawings: general arrangements, P&IDs
  • Interrogate schematic circuit drawings (electrical, pneumatic etc.)
  • Work on multiple projects at one time

The Person

The ideal Technical Author will need to be career driven as the role will have significant scope of internal development within the company. Key criteria for the role will be as follows;

  • 2 years+ experience in a Technical Author role or similar
  • Comfortable with standard engineering principles
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite and Adobe Acrobat DC
  • Be able to work in a project driven environment
  • educated to HNC level or above in relevant discipline
