About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Wirer / Panel Wirer
to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team supporting high-profile
Defence & Maritime projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled wiring technician with experience in
IPC-620 standards, control panel assembly, cable harnessing, and electrical testing to work within a highly regulated engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wire and assemble electrical components, control panels, cable looms, and harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings and build specifications.
  • Install cable looms and electrical harnesses to customer and company standards.
  • Carry out termination work including crimping, soldering, lacing, and cable preparation.
  • Read and interpret detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Work with a variety of connector types, conduit systems, trunking, and cable management solutions.
  • Conduct functional, continuity, and insulation testing using bench test equipment (full training provided where required).
  • Complete and maintain all production and quality documentation including MITPs, Traveller Documents, FAIRs, and QARs.
  • Ensure all work complies with IPC-620 standards, internal build procedures, and customer specifications.
  • Follow all site health & safety, environmental, quality, and security procedures.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives including 5S practices.
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this Electrical Wirer position, you should have:
  • Previous experience working as an Electrical Wirer, Panel Wirer, Harness Technician, or Cable Assembly Technician. 
  • Experience working within regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defence, Marine, Rail, Automotive, or Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of MOD, IPC-620, and DEF-STAN wiring standards.
  • Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances and detailed engineering instructions. 
  • Competence using hand tools, electrical test meters, and production documentation. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within modular engineering teams. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. 
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification). 
  • IPC-620 Certification preferred. 
  • Previous experience supporting Maritime or Defence contracts is highly desirable. 
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies.
