Task: A large EPCM &amp; General Contractor were looking to reinstate themselves as a major player in the Data Centre Construction &amp; Engineering market throughout Europe. This started with two, hyperscale projects in the North of Netherlands, the requirement from this, was to source:

<li>Experience of the full project lifecycle from Pre-Con to Handover at Project Director level</li>

Action: We arranged a full consultation on the requirements of the position, through which we were able to advise on the most attractive parts of the role, and fleshed out the more difficult parts of the role to better suit the market.
Due to the highly-senior level of the position and our widely accessible network in the industry (built up over 5 years), we were able to take a discreet approach on this, mainly operating through referrals and direct approaches that leveraged a personal and &ldquo;in-touch&rdquo; method.
From this we were able to source a candidate that was perfect for the position, after two interviews, they were hired, and have been leading the projects (and more) for the past 2+ years.

Task A growing Engineering Consultancy was looking to make a strategic hire, for an&nbsp;Electrical Engineering Lead to manage a critical long-term project in Germany. Due to continued growth, the role was urgent. Therefore, a highspeed,&nbsp;targeted search was crucial to meet the client&rsquo;s needs and have the desired candidate in place and onsite as soon as possible.
Action We arranged an on-site technical briefing session with the Directors&nbsp;to approve the brief and collaboratively build the recruitment&nbsp;process. Using Core Talent&rsquo;s extensive Engineering network, we&nbsp;commenced a targeted search and identified the best&nbsp;candidates with extensive experience in Electrical&nbsp;Engineering, on Advanced Manufacturing projects within&nbsp;Europe. An expanding mission-critical MEP subcontractor was seeking a Project Director for one of their newly-won UK projects in Oxfordshire.
Due to client pressure the Project Director role was urgent and required someone with specific mission-critical and Mechanical contracting experience who was available quickly. With most of these individuals in high-pressure, well-paid roles on 3 month notice periods this was a particularly challenging hire.
Action
Core Talent met with the Group Managing Director on 2nd October to Know his World: we took the job specification &amp; agreed the process. The job brief was approved and Core Talent begun the search the same day.
Core Talent reached out to its existing network of Project Director level candidates within the mission-critical sector in the UK and used a targeted headhunt to identify further candidates who fit the brief and were available in the required timeframe.
We longlisted 8 candidates, referenced these candidates and then shortlisted 4. All four candidates were put through a 1st stage interview process, with one being identified as a potential future leader but too senior for the Project Director role.
As such, 3 candidates were progressed to 2nd stage, all of which took place within 2 weeks of the original briefing call with the Managing Director.
One of the candidates was identified by Core Talent as working for a competitor for the last 7 years and who had recently become immediately available after an extended holiday following a project completion.
9 working days after the briefing call an Offer was accepted by this candidate and the Project Director was on site the following Monday; exactly 2 weeks following the original brief.

IR35 exists to determine the difference between genuine contractors who provide a consultancy type services through their PSC and those who could be considered disguised employees.Outside of IR35 contractors providing specialist consultancy services via their PSC will benefit from paying lower rate business taxes. Contractors that fall within IR35 are required to pay the same amount of tax / National Insurance as they would if there were permanently employed.There are a number of key indicators that will determine the IR35 / employment status of a contractor, some carrying greater weight than others. These indicators typically assess the following:<ul class="ul1"><li class="li1">The type of service being provided by the contractor</li><li class="li1">How the end clients engages with the contractor</li><li class="li1">Distinctions between the contractor and the end clients permanent employees</li></ul>Key indicators include but are not limited to; Supervision Direction &amp; Control (SDC), Mutuality of Obligation (MOO), Right to Substitute, Financial Risk and factors that would indicate distinction between the contractor and the end clients employees such as provision of equipment, company benefits, flexibility and location of work to name a few.There is a cost benefit for contractors who operate outside of IR35 and because of this a certain percentage of the contract workforce will only accept outside IR35 assignments, with the expectation being that they will be engaged by the end client in a compliant manner. It is down to the end client to decide whether they are comfortable engaging contractors in this way.If they&rsquo;re not, there is the option of bringing in a contractor on an inside of IR35 basis, engaging with them in the same way as they do their permanent employees. Factors that determine the IR35 status of the Contractor

Contractors determined to be operating outside of IR35 are permitted to provide their services through a Personal Service Company, and are able to pay themselves a salary, draw the remainder of income as dividends and remain responsible for their taxes.

In order to ensure that 100% PAYE compliance is achieved for captured contractors we will payroll them through our Umbrella partner Brookson One. The correct amount of tax and NI will be deducted at source prior to payments being processed into the contractor’s bank account.

In December each year, we vote for a local charity to support in the next year. We set a financial target and also collect and donate practical items which are distributed by the charity. Whether it’s a Sky Dive, Fun Run or an event like Tough Mudder, everyone works together to achieve the target.

<h2>Medequip4kids</h2>We will support Medequip4kids throughout 2023 &amp; 2024. MedEquip4Kids provides equipment that is not available from limited NHS resources to improve the health of babies and children in the UK. Wood Street Mission provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We really enjoyed supporting such a wonderful charity and were glad to exceed our target by £97 and 35 items!

Throughout 2021 and 2022 we supported The Christie. The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie is able to provide to it's patients and their families. They are one of the largest hospital charities in the UK with 82p in every pound raised going directly to the patients.
