The Role
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a BMS Commissioning Engineer to join their Dublin-based team. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, testing, fault-finding, and optimisation of Building Management Systems and integrated control solutions across a variety of projects throughout Ireland and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on commissioning work, technical problem-solving, and exposure to advanced automation and controls technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission BMS and integrated control systems on new-build and existing facilities.
- Perform point-to-point testing, functional testing, and system validation.
- Diagnose and resolve commissioning, controls, and integration issues.
- Configure and optimise control strategies, graphics, alarms, and trending functions.
- Work closely with project managers, controls engineers, subcontractors, and end clients.
- Support integration with HVAC systems, PLCs, SCADA platforms, and third-party equipment.
- Produce commissioning documentation, test sheets, and handover reports.
- Participate in site acceptance testing (SAT) and client demonstrations.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with technical specifications and programme requirements.
- Support occasional out-of-hours work where project demands require.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience commissioning Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls, field devices, and associated building services systems.
- Experience with fault-finding, troubleshooting, and system optimisation.
- Familiarity with PLC integrations and communication protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel across Ireland and Europe as required.
Desirable
- Experience with one or more of the following platforms:
- Trend
- Rockwell Automation
- Siemens
- Ignition
- Schneider Electric / EcoStruxure
- Experience within data centres, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, commercial buildings, or other critical environments.
- Full driving licence.
