Role Overview
We are working with a leading client in the joinery and cabinetry sector who is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to support the full design-to-manufacture process. This role involves producing high-quality production drawings from tender documentation, client briefs, and site surveys through to final manufacturing output.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical drawing ability with practical joinery knowledge to deliver accurate, detailed working drawings using AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D production and manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD
- Translate tender drawings, site surveys, and client briefs into buildable designs
- Develop and maintain drawing schedules aligned with production and installation timelines
- Prepare and issue working drawings for client and architectural approval
- Ensure all drawings include comprehensive information (materials, finishes, specifications) to eliminate ambiguity during manufacture
- Liaise with Project and Contracts Managers to identify and resolve potential manufacturing issues prior to submission
- Apply technical knowledge and drafting expertise to deliver high-quality, accurate outputs
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in CAD design within cabinetry or joinery
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of cabinetry and joinery manufacturing processes (essential)
- Proven experience producing production drawings for manufacture
- Experience in “setting out” detailed 2D drawings from design concepts (essential)
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Fluent written and spoken English
Desirable Experience
- Experience using Cabinet Vision
- Background in furniture or production design across commercial and/or residential projects
