This is a client-side opportunity working directly for the developer on a major advanced construction programme in Kristiansand, with a strong focus on large-scale data centre delivery. You will lead the commercial function across the project lifecycle, protecting value, managing risk, and ensuring robust governance, reporting, and contractual compliance.

- Location: Kristiansand (site-based)
- Salary: €150,000+

Key Responsibilities
- Own commercial strategy and execution for the project, ensuring alignment with developer objectives.
- Lead procurement and tendering: bid evaluations, negotiation, contract award recommendations, and onboarding.
- Manage contract administration (e.g., NEC/FIDIC/JCT or similar), including change control, claims, and dispute avoidance/resolution.
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow; provide accurate monthly reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Implement strong governance for valuations, payment certification, variations, EOTs, and final account close-out.
- Drive risk and opportunity management, including commercial input to programme, design changes, and supply chain strategy.
- Support project teams with commercial advice across construction packages (MEP, CSA, commissioning interfaces).
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and project documentation standards.
Requirements
- Data centre experience is required (hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical environments).
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor on complex, high-value construction projects.
- Client-side experience (developer/investor/owner’s team) with direct stakeholder management and decision-making.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles, procurement routes, and commercial best practice.
- Advanced cost management, change management, and reporting capability; confident presenting to leadership.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence across designers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or similar (or equivalent experience).
- Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS or working towards) is desirable.
- Fluent English; ability to work effectively in a multi-national site environment.

- Costs are controlled and forecast accurately, with proactive mitigation of commercial risk.
- Contracts are administered fairly and robustly, with timely decisions and well-managed change.
- Strong supplier performance and clear commercial reporting to developer stakeholders.
