An established engineering business operating within the maritime and specialist engineering sector is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to support its Project Teams in producing bespoke designs. As an integral part of the organisation, you will be at the forefront of developing electrical systems that power a wide range of exciting projects.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop advanced electrical schematics.
- Analyse and optimise electrical systems to ensure performance and efficiency.
- Generate detailed requirements for electrical systems, laying the foundation for high-quality designs.
- Capture and document electrical schematics and designs with precision and accuracy.
- Select appropriate cables and protective devices, ensuring high levels of safety and reliability.
- Provide expert advice and review electrical component selection, contributing to successful project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Undertake a variety of engineering tasks supporting projects and programmes, demonstrating adaptability and versatility.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, contributing technical insight to support business and project objectives.
- Maintain thorough and organised documentation in accordance with local operating procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Previous experience specifying electrical components.
- Sound knowledge of relevant electrical standards and industry best practice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply a flexible, adaptable approach to electrical design challenges.
- Familiarity with electrical schematic capture and drawing review processes.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of electronics.
- Experience designing electrical systems.
- Proven experience using Zuken E3 or similar electrical design software.
