Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £40.000 - 45,000

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical Engineers & Electrical Engineers to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business based in Glossop.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to play a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently.

You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and continuous improvement across a range of manufacturing equipment and site services.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and equipment.

  • Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault diagnosis and repair.

  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding.

  • Working on a range of automated and manufacturing machinery.

  • Supporting installation, commissioning and modification of equipment.

  • Identifying recurring faults and implementing improvements to improve reliability.

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing relevant documentation.

  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.

  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.

  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects across the site.


About You

We are looking for an engineer with a strong multi-skilled maintenance background, ideally gained within a manufacturing or production environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC or equivalent).

  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.

  • Experience of fault finding on industrial machinery.

  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.

  • Good understanding of electrical control systems, sensors, motors and drives.

  • Mechanical maintenance experience including bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics.

  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.

  • A strong focus on health, safety and quality.
