Job Title: BIM Engineer
Rotation: 3 Weeks On / 1 Week Off
Location: Milan Based Project
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BIM Engineer to join a dynamic project team operating on a rotational basis (3 weeks on / 1 week off) across multiple sites throughout Europe. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects within the mechanical and electrical sectors, supporting the digital design and coordination of large-scale engineering installations.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and developing BIM data across active projects. Collaborating closely with design, procurement, and planning teams, you will ensure that BIM models are aligned with the project schedule and support seamless delivery through effective coordination and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement BIM protocols and standards tailored to project requirements
Produce detailed 2D and 3D digital designs for mechanical and electrical systems using BIM software
Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs to create a unified and fully integrated BIM model
Conduct clash detection and lead the resolution process to minimise construction issues and rework
Maintain accurate documentation, including models, drawings, material take-offs, and reports
Lead model review sessions and walkthroughs with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project specifications
Provide training and mentorship to junior team members on BIM tools and workflows
Explore and introduce innovative BIM technologies to improve project delivery and model accuracy
Key Requirements
3rd level qualification in Engineering or Building Services, alongside a relevant BIM certification
2-3 years of hands-on BIM experience in a mechanical or electrical environment
Background in mechanical or electrical engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Strong attention to detail and a proactive, self-motivated approach
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong team ethos
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines across multiple projects
Work Pattern
3 weeks on-site (within Europe) / 1 week off rotation
Travel and accommodation provided during on-site periods
