Overview
We are seeking a Lead Commissioning Manager (CxA) to join a major data centre project in Marseille, France. This is a client-side role, responsible for overseeing commissioning delivery and ensuring that all contractors and vendors meet the required standards.
This position is primarily leadership-focused, with minimal hands-on commissioning, and will play a key role in managing both the commissioning process and stakeholder expectations on behalf of the client.



Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the client-side Commissioning Authority (CxA), ensuring all commissioning activities are delivered to the highest standards
  • Manage and coordinate General Contractors (GCs) and vendors, ensuring compliance with commissioning processes and quality expectations
  • Lead meetings, workshops, and technical discussions with contractors and stakeholders
  • Review commissioning programmes, monitor progress, and provide detailed reporting
  • Challenge and drive improvements where quality or delivery standards are not met
  • Provide direction to internal teams and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Support and oversee Level 5 commissioning activities, with occasional site involvement if required
  • Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders and ensure alignment across teams


Role Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Lead Commissioning Manager / CxA role
  • Strong data centre project experience (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders effectively
  • Experience working on client-side commissioning roles (not GC-side)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, influence decisions, and take ownership
  • Strong organisational and reporting capabilities

Desirable Skills

  • French language skills (highly preferred due to French-speakingGC)
    • English-only candidates will be considered if confident managing communication in meetings
  • Experience across both mechanical and electrical systems (not essential to specialise, but a good understanding of both is beneficial)


Working Pattern

  • Rotation:
    • Local candidates: Monday-Friday
    • Non-local candidates: 10 days on / 4 days off rotation
  • Hours:
    • Typically 8-9 hours per day during early phases
    • Flexibility required during peak commissioning (L4/L5 stages), where longer hours may be necessary
