About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Critical Facilities Engineer to join a high-profile data centre project in Amsterdam. You'll play a key role in ensuring the continuous, reliable operation of all critical infrastructure systems supporting a mission-critical facility.
Working closely with the operations and engineering teams, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising critical systems, including UPS, generators, and cooling systems, to guarantee 24/7 uptime performance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and operate critical mechanical and electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling, BMS, etc.)
Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure equipment
Respond to and resolve technical issues, faults, or alarms in a timely and safe manner
Support commissioning, maintenance, and capacity upgrades within the facility
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for planned works and emergency response
Ensure all operations adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards
Maintain accurate records, technical logs, and reporting documentation
Requirements
Proven experience in a critical environment (data centres, hospitals, financial institutions, etc.)
Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, and cooling systems
Relevant technical qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (HND/Degree or equivalent)
Solid understanding of BMS and EPMS systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
