About the Role
As a Junior Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our design and engineering activities. You'll work closely with senior engineers, manufacturing, business development, purchasing teams, and customers to ensure engineering documentation, drawings, and project details are created and maintained to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and updating wiring harness drawings, supporting SAP/ERP administration, contributing to technical quotations, and assisting with engineering queries throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Support
Produce new wiring harness drawings to customer specifications using CAD tools.
Update, revise, and maintain existing technical drawings and associated engineering documentation.
Prepare Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and new part number documentation.
Work directly with customers to clarify design requirements and resolve technical queries.
ERP/SAP Administration
Create job numbers and set up top-level and sub-assembly structures within SAP.
Request new raw material part codes through global support teams.
Build and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and labour hour estimates.
Provide unit pricing to internal teams for Asset Value (AV) updates.
Business Development Support
Develop BOMs and labour breakdowns for customer quotations.
Assist in sourcing alternative materials/components when required.
Participate in technical meetings and pre-bid discussions.
Cross-Functional Support
Support Manufacturing with build issues and engineering-related queries.
Act as a link between Engineering, Purchasing, and external customers to resolve technical issues.
Attend internal reviews and provide engineering insights where needed.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in a design, engineering support, or similar role (graduates with strong placement experience also considered).
Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial but not essential.
