Step into a role where your engineering expertise directly contributes to the development of high-integrity, safety-critical systems within the nuclear sector. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of electronics design, supporting the delivery of robust analogue, digital, and computer-based solutions in a highly regulated environment.

As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer, you will play a key role across the full project lifecycle - from initial concept and requirements definition through to design, verification, and ongoing system support. This position is ideally suited to someone who thrives on technical challenge and values precision, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and review detailed engineering designs, technical documentation, and reports in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements

  • Act as a subject matter expert within the team, providing technical guidance and leadership when required

  • Engage with customers to define requirements and develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions

  • Analyse legacy systems to support upgrade, replacement, or refurbishment programmes

  • Collaborate closely with project teams, offering technical input to support successful delivery

  • Work with external suppliers to ensure the effective integration of third-party components

  • Provide occasional on-site support during installation and commissioning activities

  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge across safety systems and instrumentation

  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and introduce modern engineering practices

  • Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with nuclear industry standards, with a strong focus on safety and quality

Skills & Experience

  • Due to project requirements, applicants must be sole British nationals

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)

  • Strong background in electronic design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g. Altium or similar tools)

  • Solid understanding of analogue electronics, particularly within instrumentation front-end design (noise, signal integrity, frequency response, thermal effects, etc.)

  • Familiarity with digital electronics and a range of device technologies

  • Experience working on complete electronic systems, including mechanical integration, thermal considerations, and reliability

  • Hands-on experience with modern test equipment such as oscilloscopes and programmable instrumentation

The Opportunity

You'll be joining a highly skilled engineering environment focused on delivering dependable solutions for critical applications. The work is challenging, varied, and meaningful - offering the chance to contribute to projects where performance and safety are paramount.
