SHEQ Manager (70% HSE / 30% Quality)

Location: Somerset
Salary: Negotiable DOE - £60-70k + package

We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join a leading chemicals business operating in a high-hazard environment. This is a critical leadership role focused on driving a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance across health, safety, environmental, and quality systems.

With a primary focus on Health, Safety & Environment (70%) and Quality (30%), you will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all SHEQ activities across the site
• Ensure full compliance with COMAH regulations and relevant legislation
• Drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain and improve integrated management systems aligned with ISO standards
• Conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
• Deliver SHEQ training and support to operational teams
• Oversee quality processes, ensuring consistency and compliance

Requirements

• Proven experience in a COMAH-regulated site (essential)
• NEBOSH qualification (Diploma or equivalent preferred)
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, including:
  • ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
  • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
  • OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 (Health & Safety)
• Experience within the chemicals or process industry
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills
• Ability to drive cultural change and continuous improvement
