Data Centre Construction - Desired Locations and All The Reasons Why…

Mission-critical construction is absolutely booming across Europe. There’s going to be exponential growth across the next decade and new locations are taking off!

There’s talk of hotter locations on better rotations…

Location is a key factor when it comes to decision-making in this sector. Whether it’s down to tax, accessibility, or weather, it plays a key factor in the choice you make.

I speak to experienced candidates daily about where they want their next project to take them and travel is always a strong motivator. It makes a huge difference for your rotation, NET Salary and lifestyle.

So here’s an overview of (what I think) are the top five locations to look at right now and why.

1.   Frankfurt- The Data Centre Hub.

There is a huge presence for Data Centre’s in Frankfurt and it’s absolutely full of industry professionals working on large-scale projects. The pipeline for future work here is only getting busier and better. This amazing city culture also allows for a brilliant social life outside of work. Whether you’re stepping onto your very first Data Centre project or you’re a seasoned professional there’s something for you here.

2.   The Netherlands

The Netherlands is becoming busier and busier now across various sectors in mission-critical construction. Extremely popular for its 30% Tax Ruling which has a huge effect when it comes to your NET take-home pay. Easily accessible when it comes travel to multiple locations. An excellent place with brilliant culture.

3.   Denmark – One of the Happiest Countries in the World.

Aside from being one of the Happiest Countries in the World, it’s also currently one of the busiest locations in the sector. With projects in excellent locations across Denmark including Copenhagen and Odense, this would be an ideal country to look into if you want your career to really take off. Another country with a brilliant Expat Tax Scheme, which is a huge game changer.

4.   Sweden –

This is a location that can vary massively depending on where you are. You could be right at the heart in Stockholm or way up to the North in Lulea. There is some excellent culture and beautiful scenery here to enjoy. Multiple sectors are really taking off here including Data Centre, Life Sciences and Renewable Energy projects. Once again you’ll find the Expat Tax Ruling applies here too, definitely worth looking into!

5.   Ireland.

The Irish Construction Industry is continuously growing and is the home of some of the Top Contractors operating across Europe. This is a hot location for opportunity and progression with a huge boost in the residential sector. There has been major employment growth in the construction industry here. Definitely, a prime location to consider when thinking about how you can accelerate your career.

I’d be keen to hear what locations you’d rank in your top five as well as places that are due to get a lot busier!

It’s always good to stay ahead of the curve and know where the best projects are coming next… Did someone say Portugal?
