We are seeking an experienced Project Manager within the Advanced Engineering sector to lead the delivery of complex Building Management System (BMS) and automation packages in Portugal. This is a 12-month contract role offering hybrid working and flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end project delivery, ensuring scope, budgets, deliverables, quality, and programme milestones are met.
  • Manage BMS scope of delivery works, including commissioning readiness, integration, documentation, and handover.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractor engineers and specialist vendors, ensuring alignment to technical and commercial requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, change control, and cost forecasts; manage variations and claims where applicable.
  • Chair project meetings, track actions, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, site rules, H&S requirements, and quality processes.
  • Support procurement activities, resource planning, and interface management across multi-disciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering BMS, commissioning, automation, or engineering projects, ideally within advanced engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of BMS scope, controls/automation principles, commissioning processes, and system handover.
  • Demonstrable budget management experience, including forecasting, cost control, and commercial awareness.
  • Track record of leading subcontractor engineers and managing third-party performance against programme and quality targets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills; comfortable presenting progress and managing expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple interfaces and workstreams in a fast-paced delivery setting.
  • Competent with project tools (e.g., MS Project/Primavera, Excel) and document control practices.
  • Relevant qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Automation, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is advantageous.
  • Right to work in Portugal and availability to travel to site as required under a hybrid arrangement.
