Company: International Tobacco Business
Role: Senior VP Manufacturing Performance
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
They employ over 30,000 people globally, they have numerous factories, offices, five research & development centers and tobacco processing facilities.
This position is the most senior they have ever recruited externally, reporting to the COO with a plan to succeed him as Head of Global Supply Chain within 5 years.
We were contacted by the client to support them on this position after their direct source model had failed to deliver a suitable candidate. Over the course of the following 6 months we:
Immersed ourselves in the Tobacco Industry and the target markets they were interested to recruit people from – Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical, Automotive.
We traversed the precarious jurisdictions of Switzerland with the upmost compliance and care.
We managed an intricate recruitment process, sourcing candidates on a truly global scale including Asia and the US wrapping our heads around weird and wonderful taxation and allowances in each new location. We skyped every candidate considered for shortlist, we flew out and met those that interviewed. We made lasting relationships with the people involved including the candidates that were ultimately unsuccessful.
Ironically the successful candidate lived 5km from the JTI Office which illustrates the depth of our searches.
